Choosing the Right Brad Nails
Pick a brad about two and a half to three times longer than the piece you're nailing. For thin trim, 1 inch to 1-1/4 inch brads work well. How to Load and Use
- Disconnect the air hose before loading.
- Open the magazine and drop in a strip of 18 gauge brads, points facing down.
- Close the magazine until it latches.
- Set your compressor between 70 and 120 PSI and connect the hose.
- Test on a scrap piece and turn the depth dial until the nail sits just below the surface.
- Press the nose firmly against the work and pull the trigger.
Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Because the BT1855K is oil free, there's no need to add oil. Drain water from your compressor tank often and keep the magazine and nose clean. To clear a jam, first disconnect the air, then open the nose, remove the bent brad with pliers, close the nose and test again. If nails sink too deep or sit proud, adjust the depth dial or your air pressure.
